Remember: spelling pages are due Tuesdays and a cumulative test of each two lessons are every other week on Fridays

PERSUASIVE ESSAY PART POSTER/PART PARAGRAPH- Make sure you have done the reading (LB P. 598-619) and follow directions.          
ESSAY PROMPT:  From the perspective of 1 character in Catherine Called Birdy, persuade another character to change his or her mind on an issue OR call them to action.  Here are some suggestions: Shaggy Beard persuades Catherine to marry him, OR
Perkin persuades Edward to read, OR persuade the good people of England to wash weekly.  Due Wednesday, 2/11
EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT
 Find meanings in CCB (Catherine Called Birdy) or in
dictionary for the 24 vocabulary words from the story &

SUMMARY DUE  Friday 2/20
Write a summary of the story "The Sword in the Stone" thats found  in the Lit. Book (Per. 6 does a summary of their choice).
Answer:  who, did what, when, how, and why with important details that explain the theme.  Also include an introduction, topic sentence (should state the theme), transitions, a concluding sentence and zinger.  The summary should be about 3/4  page minimum.

Memorize all 25 word parts & their meanings for the test Friday . Click on
Greek & Latin Word Parts for a link to the words
Recurring Theme due 4/1 .   3/4 page      Explain in a paragraph  a recurring theme. 
Write about your story's theme.  Then explain how two other "pieces of work" (poems, stories, movies, Dr. Suess stories, etc.) have the same theme.   Remember a topic and concluding sentence which should use the words, recurring theme, in both.
